The JimFear138 Podcast Ep. 79 - #TheMemo, Evil Dead Elon, & Dark Souls

Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of the podcast! This time I go over the Nunes memo in detail so that everyone who listens to this show knows what's up with this thing, talk a little about Elon Musk's short foray into flamethrower vending along with a discussion about zombies more generally, and the last third or so of the show is taken up by gushing about Dark Souls, as I've recently started playing it again and remembered how much I love that game.

Hope you guys enjoy!

  1. I can't believe you forgot the name of the other member of Starwind & Hawking there Jim! Also, I'm with you on Dark Souls...but no love for Bloodborne?

All kidding aside, good show. First I've heard anyone go through the memo piece by piece, and I was already a fan of your work on audio books. Looks like I got another podcast to start downloading.

    1. I know, I was kicking myself when I remembered, but it's been years since I've watched that anime. So far as Bloodborne goes, I'm a pc guy, and haven't bought a console since the XBox360, so I'm still waiting for Sony to get off their asses and port it to pc. It's one of maybe five games on that console I actually want to play, and I'm not paying $300+ for a console just to play five games. I just have to be patient and wait for them to give it a proper release where I can get a mod that'll put anime girls all over the dark, brooding, gothic architecture.

And I'm glad you liked the podcast! Most of the stuff I talk about is topical, but occasionally I'll get a wild hair and just go off on something I care about personally, so don't feel like you have to go back to episode 1 or anything.

  2. Mr. Fear:

Thanks for reading that memo; I know this sounds like a cliché, but that was a public service. Nice job.

So, Dark Souls, eh? Hmmm. Definitely got to get me one of those mods that plasters anime girls all over the background. Who doesn't like that?

    1. It was my pleasure. I kinda felt like I had to read it out, because the only other person I'd seen do that was Hard Bastard, and he showed a lot of mainstream media organizations talk about it, but nobody read it to their watchers but him. I didn't want him to be alone in that, and thankfully this podcast has kinda blown up and hopefully a lot more people know what's actually in the thing now.

And I'm just taking a shot in the dark on the Dark Souls anime girls mods. There's a mod for just about everything, so I figure there has to be one for that. Especially given that weebs and computer nerds tend to have a high level of crossover. But there are mods that let you turn your Estus Flask into a Sunny D bottle, so the anime girl thing doesn't seem to be too much of a stretch.
